Looking for Bruce

My last post mentioned my friend, Bruce, who was staying with us. He was with us because he was recovering from spending a week in the hospital with a serious illness. He was doing fine at first but then his body just couldn’t fight it anymore. Bruce died Wednesday, April 28th at 4AM. I’ll probably be posting a lot about Bruce here in the future. For the past 17 years he was one of the closest friends I’ve ever had. I can’t find the words to express what I’m feeling. So, of course, I head to my art to express.

I made this piece on Sunday. It’s about trying to reconcile, trying to find someone through all the “fog”. The moon was full on April 28th.

various papers, caron d’ache, ink, gouache, photocopies

I’m sorry about the loss of your friend, Jack. What a comforting way to search through your feelings. I like the collage.
